Yoga is an exclusive gift of India to mankind, which comprehensively deals with our body, mind and Soul. Yoga promotes not only a great deal of physical flexibility but also brings about a state of equanimity in our disposition and elevates us at the consciousness level. With immense grace of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, on the occasion of the fifth International Yoga Day on June 21, 2019, DJJS under its Holistic Health Program-‘Aarogya’, participated in the ‘Samuhik Yog’ event at Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi. The event was mainly organized by the efforts of Shri Tilak Raj Kataria, Standing Committee Chairman of North MCD. The Guest of Honour was Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Cabinet Minister in Ministry of Jal Shakti.

The program witnessed a perfect blend of Yogic Asanas, Pranayama, Spiritual Discourse, and Group Meditation to harness spiritual potential and seek health, peace and harmony for all, on the basis of the ancient concept of yoga. Many regional politicians, fitness enthusiasts, and other people gathered to reap the benefits of this grand yogic event.

The DJJS representative elucidated that International Day of Yoga aims at raising worldwide awareness of the therapeutic and spiritual benefits of practicing yoga. This day also symbolises harmony and amity among the masses, which is the essence of Yoga. Yoga is not a religion; it is a way of living that aims at nourishing a healthy mind in a healthy body. Yoga is not confined to bending or winding the body and holding the breath as per yogic postures. It is, in fact, a phenomenal technique to channelize our inner energies through ‘Dhyan’ and cherish the inner bliss.

The DJJS representative beautifully explained that Yoga is innate to our souls as it is essentially based on the laws of our inner science. Thus, its magnificence lies in spiritual gratification. It helps in developing the balance between all the three dimensions of our persona- body, mind, and Soul, as stated in Ayurveda.  Verily, when everything functions brilliantly within the human body, then, one can draw out the best from one’s capabilities.

The Guest of Honour, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Cabinet Minister applauded the sincere efforts of the Founder and Head of DJJS, Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji and his disciples for coordinating such an exemplary program and highlighting the spiritual science behind Yoga. DJJS’ representative concluded by saying that Yoga signifies sanctity of mind and spirit, which is indeed direly needed for mankind today. Therefore, we should celebrate International Yoga Day in its real essence and enrich our lives at all levels.
