On the occasion of ‘World Health Day 2019’, a one day free ‘General Health checkup Camp’ was organized by DJJS Amravati branch in Maharashtra on 14th of April 2019 at Tilakwadi, Datta Nagar, Darwha, Yavatmal district in Maharashtra to cater the health needs of people residing in the nearby underserved communities of Darwha town and nearby areas.
Wide publicity of camp was done in advance in nearby areas by DJJS volunteers through distribution of pamphlets. On the day of camp, the registration of patients was started at 8am onwards by DJJS volunteers. A team of two doctors Dr. Gopal Aggarwal (General Physician) and Dr. Ganesh Rathi (Health Medical Officer, MSRTC) rendered free services in the camp, along with paramedical staff for BP check-up and medicines distribution. The team of doctors examined 164 registered patients comprising 70 women, 79 men & 15 children and gave them free consultation and diagnosis for their ailments. And those with chronic ailments were referred to hospitals for further investigation and treatment. Also, doctors encouraged patients to incorporate & maintain hygiene, daily nutrition intake and take various preventive measures.
Prescribed medicines were given free of cost to patients. Special arrangements have been made in the camp for Blood sugar test & BP checkup.
