To counter the rising no. of cases of people falling into the trap of drug addiction, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan founded and mentored by His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji under its drug abuse eradication initiative Bodh mobilized the baton of young dedicated volunteers for exterminating this grave problem from some of the most affected areas like Pahar Ganj owing to the fact of having a railway station in its vicinity by launching a yearlong drive ‘Utthaan’ - a campaign against drug addiction in Delhi.
People from different backgrounds were invited not only to participate but to upload their support as sensitive and responsible contributors in the upcoming campaign's community-driven activities. Graced by eminent personalities, Mr. R.P.Singh – the National Secretary of Bhartiya Janta Party, Professor Kishan Lal – President of Association of Academics & Societies of Sciences in Asia, Sh. Brijmohan Sethi – the Chief Patron, Hindu helpline (VHP Delhi), Mr. A. N. Gaur – the Director of NDMC and Mr. Lal Ram Chandani - Deputy Chief Engineer, Indian Railway the program turned out to be a very uniquely awakening evening.
Considering the problem of drug abuse as not an isolated problem because it affects the society as a whole, how it blotches human personalities be it newborn infants, young pals or the elderly citizens in a family giving rise to such countless destructive problems even if a single member consumes any intoxicant. Everyone present there appreciated the performances and the way the pain is dealt with highlighting different situations. Post the sessions, launching ceremony of the campaign was formally organized where the eminent guests symbolically pulled out the word ‘U’ from the World of ‘DRUGS’ where ‘U’ symbolizes an individual being taken out from the world of drugs. The entire team as torchbearers of the campaign who have been trained for the campaign itself were also handed with an oath board marking their responsibility towards the society. Sadhvi Shitabha Bharti Ji, the devotee disciple of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji and the program in-charge screened the documentary showing the various projects done under the program Bodh, she also threw light on the overall plan of the campaign and shared many of her ideas for the mobilization, awareness and treatment of the masses. The program was concluded by Swami Narendranand Ji, Secretary, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan. During dinner, various attendants came forward and shared their views, will to contribute and experiences regarding the subject of the campaign.
