'Gau Maha Yagya' Purified the Atmosphere and The Minds at Divya Dham Ashram, Delhi

The premises of Divya Dham Ashram, Delhi reverberated with this prayer on Feb. 28, 2016 when a large scale “Gau Maha Yagya” was performed under the social initiative ‘Kamdhenu’.

Kamdhenu project, first of its kind, is an initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan which aims at preservation, breed improvement and creating awareness regarding use of Indian breed of cows. Over the years, the program has gained traction amongst scientist, agriculturist and political class. It has not only addressed professionals, researchers but also enthusiastic students. More than 400 people attended the event and took part in this noble Yagya.

The Yagya has its significance since the Vedic times. Having a purifying effect, it kills harmful bacteria and neutralizes the pollutants present in the air. It has a therapeutic properties also healing stress and depressions. The Yagya done for a cow has further more significance so that we can preserve mother of all mothers, the cow. Just like Mother Nature, cow gives us plenty and doesn’t ask anything for return. The symbolic meaning of the ritual fire offerings performed during Yagya, was also disclosed. It inspired people to surrender their ego, greed, negativity to the almighty and tread the path of righteousness. 

The recitation of Sanskrit mantras along with Yagya created a pure and serene atmosphere which not only purified the surroundings but also cleansed the minds of attendees. For two hours when the yagya was going on, the attendees experienced a state of peace and tranquility. The attendees could understand the significance of preservation and protection of Indian cow.
