Excursion to National Science Centre and Akshardham temple organized @ Manthan SVK, Shakurpur, New Delhi

Learning should be a joy and full of excitement. To maintain the fire of curiosity within the children, excursions to various locations plays an important part. Manthan-SVK is an initiative by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan which is working relentlessly for the benefit of underprivileged children of the society. Manthan not only focuses on the formal education of the children but also on the overall development. Various excursions to different locations are organized on a regular basis for the children to find joy in what they are learning. One such full day excursion was organized by Shakurpur, New Delhi branch on 21st April 2019 to National Science Centre and Akshardham temple. 44 students and 8 volunteers were a beneficiary of that trip.

At the National Science centre, students got an opportunity to watch three shows, Communication saga show, 3D film show and Holo show. Each of the show created excitement among the children. Also, the students went to three galleries namely Water: The elixir of life, Human biology gallery and Pre-historic life gallery. Also they visited the science and technology heritage gallery and fun science gallery. Children enjoyed a lot in all of the galleries. At the end of the National Science Centre trip, students were provided with an educational kit for home by the centre. After the Science centre, students were taken to visit the Akshardham temple. Students explored ten dwars (Gates) in the temple. The students also enjoyed the magnificent architecture of the temple. Students also enjoyed the Sahaj Anand water show which was a breathtaking 24 minutes presentation which unites a variety of intriguing media to bring to life a story from the Lena Upanishad. Multi color lasers, video projections, underwater flames, water jets and sound in symphony with lights and live actors produced a captivating and inspiring presentation. The students enjoyed the show and were mesmerized by the show. At the end, students were provided with the refreshment of bananas and biscuits and also the full meal was provided to the willing students.
