One of the most important things adults can do for young children is to model the kind of person we would like them to be. A child’s first interaction is with his/her parents followed by the lessons he learns in school by his teachers. The amalgamation of the parent-teacher guidance and tutoring inculcates the value system in a child which forms his personality and decides his future in the society. Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan (DJJS) recognises this fact and facilitates this interaction among the parents and teachers by organising regular Parent Teacher Meetings (PTM) for the students of its holistic education program, Manthan SVK.
Two of such PTMs were conducted at the Patel Nagar Manthan SVK (Sampoorna Vikas Kendra) and Faridabad Manthan SVK on 9th August, 2016 and 13th August, 2016 respectively. At the Patel Nagar centre, the parents of 24 students had attended the PTM where Sadhavi Pratibha Bharti Ji threw some light on the significance of health and hygiene and drew their attention towards the noteworthiness of punctuality. The parents were also compelled to think about the fact that their child needs special care and it’s their responsibility as parents to make them feel special. At the Faridabad centre also, this event was orchestrated to bring awareness among parents towards the admission procedure of their children in a government school along with the required documentation. The lecture-based training session was conducted through PowerPoint Presentations and was well equipped with the training logistics like speakers, projectors, etc.
Overall both the events were a success and the parents gained a perspective and a sense of encouragement to focus more on their children’s education and some of them decided to admit their kids in Manthan SVK for a holistic education i.e. their 360 degree development.
