Manthan – Sampoorna Vikas Kendras gears up for Clean India Mission
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan also called as the Clean India Mission is a national campaign. It is India's biggest ever cleanliness drive initiated by The Government of India, wherein school and college students, corporates, employees, artists, politicians and common menfolk are joining this “Clean India Campaign” very actively with great fervor and joy. This campaign was officially launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on 145th birth anniversary of the Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd of October in 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi. It is launched as a responsibility of the each and every Indian citizen to make this country a Swachh country.
Manthan SVK, social initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan enthusiastically participate in the national campaign every year on 1st and 2nd Oct, by generating awareness on cleanliness and health issues particularly in urban slums and rural belts through its 18 Sampoorna Vikas Kendra spread across the country. Students, teachers and volunteers of Manthan SVKs carried out rallies raising slogans on the need and importance of cleanliness. The awareness marches also witnessed signature campaigns by the onlookers and passerby’s pledging to Make India, a Clean India. Children also spread awareness through theme based insightful street plays and video presentations. Some centers took on the drive by cleaning their centers and schools or their nearby areas whereas the others took on essay writing and painting competitions on the day. People appreciated the efforts, zeal and enthusiasm shown by the students, teachers and volunteers of DJJS, Manthan Program. Some of them even joined the children in their mission and gave hearty testimonies by sharing their experiences of the day.
The campaign is nonetheless bringing behavioral changes in the people and motivating healthy living practices, spreading cleanliness awareness among people, strengthening the cleanliness systems in the urban and rural areas as well as creating user friendly environment for all private sectors interested for investing in India for cleanliness maintenance.
