The strength of a nation lies in its young blood and aspiring minds, hence no one can celebrate its freedom better than these innocent gems of the country .To remind students about the golden heritage of our country and to feel proud of being an Indian, Manthan-Sampooran Vikas Kendra of four centres of Delhi : Mangolpuri, Rithala, Badli and Shakurpur organised 69th Republic Day Celebrations on 28th January 2018 in Community Centre, Rohini,Sector-18 from 2:30 to 6:00pm, with the theme – “Tiranga Bol Utha”. Ranging from melodious songs, thought provoking skit, patriotic dance parody, and engaging magic show to the energetic jingle dance; all cultural activities had one thing in common that is “Saare Jahan se acha Hindustan hamara!!”
The programme began with Lamp lighting to illuminate knowledge and dispel darkness. We were honoured to have the benign presence of Mr. Yogendra Rana( Social worker), Dr. V. K. Saxena, Mr. Vinayak Hegde(Co-Minister, Sanskrit Bharti), Dr. Vijay( Promotion head, Sanskrit Bharti), Prof. Subhash Anand( Delhi School of Economics), Mr. Sajjan Kumar Sharma (social worker) , Prof. Narad Muni( Mathematics Department, Delhi Technological University), Mr. Mukesh Aggarwal( Shri Ram Properties, Rohini, Delhi),Mr. Bajendra Pal( Pal Properties, Rohini, Delhi), Mr. Rakesh Kukreti( Doon Properties, Rohini, Delhi) and Mr. Naveen Jain( Nucleus Institute) as our chief guests of the programme. They motivated students to study hard and make their country proud. They also appreciated the efforts taken by Manthan and Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan in bringing a change in the lives of so many people and for working selflessly towards making society a better place to live in.
After that, a group song performance by Rithala students made the audience tap their feet and awaken the deep rooted patriotism. Moreover, the magic show prepared by students from Mangolpuri centre left the onlookers amazed and surprised. Also, the Jingle dance by them compelled audience to leave their seats and shake a leg with them. Students from Shakurpur centre performed a skit- Tiranga Bol Utha which was a satire on our society that threw the viewers into the peals of laughter. This was followed by a patriotic parody by students from Badli centre, which received the standing ovation.
Parents and students gave testimonies (centre wise) to share their experience about Manthan, its programs and their views about development of their children. Moreover, Manthanites met with their sponsors who were given a certificate 'Medal of Honor' for taking an initiative to educate the underprivileged. They also distributed bags which left children with a bright and wide smile.
In addition to this, Achievers Award was given to students for excellence in previous session in their respective formal schools in different fields like academics, debate, art, sports,dance,etc. A video comprising an account of various programmes of which Manthan is a part was shared with the audience by the program coordinator, Sadhvi Deepa Bharti Ji. It included the Annual day celebrations, Bag distribution in Bhopal, Speaker of the Year Pre-finale, Syaahi-adult literacy initiative and other different campaigns conducted by them. In the end refreshments were distributed to one and all. The audience was elated to attend such an encouraging and motivating event, which felt everyone with a sense of responsibility towards the upliftment of our society.
