“SYAHI”- the adult literacy center (ALC) of Divya Jyoti jagrati Sansthan’s Manthan Program, is successfully running in the Shakurpur Basti, New Delhi. With generous support of the Rotaract Club of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (SGGSCC), Delhi University, SYAHI has spread its wings to the Patel Nagar center of Manthan- Sampoorna Vikas Kendra. The fresh batch of 15 students (Lady Scholars) was honored by Scholar I Cards, stationary kits and course material. Rotaract Club of SGGSCC has volunteered in raising funds for the project. A projector and white screen has been installed to enable digital learning at the center. The occasion was graced by the young Rotaract club members, Senior Rotaractor Ms. Deepali and Senior Rotarian Mr Vimal Gupta as special guests.
Inaugurating the center, Ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by the digital launch of ALC smart learning software by President Tamish, Rotaract Club of SGGSCC.
During the event, SYAHI Scholars from Shakurpur, New Delhi center presented their stories of transformation through emotional and inspirational testimonies. The event minutes comprised of the Lamp Lighting by the esteemed guests followed by a Prayer composition by the volunteers of DJJS. Thereafter an ALC video was presented by the Rotaractors showing the effectiveness and sustainability of the project already running in Shakurpur. To add vigor to the event, a dance presentation was also given by the young volunteers of DJJS.
The Rotaractors and guests appreciated the collaborated efforts of Rotaract Club and DJJS in bringing positive and sustainable changes in the lives of women who were earlier deemed negligent and for granted due to the pangs of illiteracy.
