On 23 Nov 2017, Department of Archaeology and Museums, Department of Culture Affairs, Govt. Of Maharashtra organized a special event to acknowledge the selfless contribution of organizations and individuals in Forts Cleanliness Drive at Ravinder Natya Mandir, P.L Deshpande Kala Academy, Prabhadevi, Mumbai. An eminent panel of dignitaries namely Hon’ble Minister of Culture Affairs Department, Maharashtra Mr. Vinod Ji Tawde; Mr. Pandurang Balkawade (Chief Advisor, Gad Samvardhan Samiti, Maharashtra); Dr. Tejas Madan Garge (Director, Department of Archaeology and Museums, Maharashtra); Mr. Nitin Gadre (Chief Secretary, Tourism & Culture Affairs Department, Maharashtra) and Mr. Sushil Garje (Director, Directorate of Archives) were present at the ceremony.  Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) along with 4 other organizations including two other NGOs and three schools were awarded certificates of appreciation by the Hon’ble Minister of Culture Affairs Department, Maharashtra Mr. Vinod Ji Tawde.

The department had initiated a month long Forts Cleanliness Drive in Sept 2016 wherein over 50 Nature Conservators of DJJS Chakan centre had participated in the cleanliness of Sangram Durg (fort) based in Chakan. The enthusiasm and dedication of DJJS Nature Conservators was a source inspiration for other members of the community residing in the near vicinity.

DJJS under the banner of its Nature Conservation Program – Sanrakshan, has been consistently working on motivating communities to maintain clean and green environment.
