On the occasion of Independence Day 2017, DJJS Hoshiarpur organized a special city- wide cyclathon to sensitize and mobilize masses for a Pollution Free & Healthy Environment. Smt. Sudesh Sampla, Sh. Sunder Sham Arora, MLA; Sh. Vipul Ujjawal, Deputy Commissioner; Sh. Elanzchian, S.S.P.; Sh. Jatinder Jorwal, S.D.M; Sh. Arvind Prakash, Tehsildar; Sh, Kamaljeet, BJP Leader; Smt. Sushma Setia; Sh. Harish Kapoor, Chief, S.T. Group of Institutions; Sh. Tilak Raj Gupta, Owner, Hotel Maharaja; Sh. Bharat Bhushan and Sh. Ravinder Aggarwal and Mr. Feroz Khan, famous Punjabi singer were eminent guests who joined the cyclathon to mark their support to the cause.
The grand cyclathon was flagged off from DJJS Hoshiarpur Gautam Nagar Ashram and over 500 cyclists with different messages on their cycles rode through the city raising slogans of environmental conservation and motivating masses to rethink their action and head towards sustainable living. Thousands of people came out of their shops, homes, offices to witness the grand parade.
DJJS being a unique socio- spiritual organization has aligned been consistently aligning its spiritual initiatives with awareness generation activities on social issues. In the same line, the said initiative is undertaken on the pre- note of DJJS Katha oration programs to sensitize and mobilize masses towards shouldering their environmental responsibility.
