Ludhiana. Having completed two and a half years of active nature conservation campaigning through its My Earth My Responsibility campaign, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, headed and founded by His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, brought together diverse stakeholders of the city at a special panel discussion on environment organized for the book release of ‘My Earth My Responsibility Ludhiana Chapter’ in Kohinoor Hall, Park Plaza on Sunday, Aug 6, 2017.

Chief Guest Mr. Vijay Sampla, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment; Guest of Honor Vijay Munjal, M.D. International Marketing at Hero Cycles Ltd; Special Guest Mr. Praneeth Sachdev, IRS, Principal Director of Income Tax, Investigation (Punjab, J&K), Special speaker, Sadhvi Parma Bharti, socio- spiritual motivational speaker DJJS and Sadhvi Aditi Bharti, All India Program Incharge DJJS Nature Conservation Program- Sanrakshan were the dignitaries who graced the panel.

Commencing with a warm welcome of the diverse stakeholders of the society who came together to stamp their environmental responsibility, the event took the shape of a focused intellectual discussion on the current environmental concern of Ludhiana and contribution and learnings of My Earth My Responsibility Ludhiana Chapter in the area.

Laying the context of the discussion, special guest Mr. Parneet S. Sachdev, IRS Principal Director of Income Tax, Investigation (Punjab, J&K talked about dynamics of environmental collapse owing to a GDP driven mindset be it at individual level or national level. He quoted various scientific studies to lay down the situation in which our planet is thriving today and called upon the audience to head towards sustainable living.

Delving into the question of willingness for change, Sadhvi Parma Bharti, Disciple of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji, an Engineer by profession and motivational speaker of DJJS, quoted His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji , “Lack of willingness is due to lack of supreme knowledge of the Self. It is because only through this knowledge that a person realizes his inner connection with nature. When this inner connection is rebuilt, conservation will become a habit of the being.”

At this note DJJS My Earth My responsibility campaign which has been living this philosophy in the city and reconnecting people with nature, its comprehensive compilation in the form of ‘My Earth My Responsibility Ludhiana Chapter: A report (July 2014- Dec 2016)’ was unveiled by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Mr. Vijay Sampla, Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment along with the eminent group of panelists for the masses.

“It is not just another report,  in fact it  is yet another motivational tool of DJJS Sanrakshan to acknowledge those who worked relentlessly with us for saving mother earth and to instigate sustainable thinking in those who watched us standing aside.” said Sadhvi Aditi Bharti, Program Incharge DJJS Sanrakshan while talking about the book.

Chief Guest, Vijay Sampla Ji, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment who has witnessed the work of the campaign right from the launch to this day, in his address extended his heartiest congratulation to the selfless team of DJJS volunteers who under the divine guidance of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, worked day in and day out  to create this wave of change. He categorically stated that, “It is high time that we should head towards spirituality for solving social problems as true spirituality has the power to change human mindsets.”

The program came to a close with honoring the Chief guest, special guest and Guest of Honor followed by a formal vote of thanks extended by Mr. Tarsem Singh Ji. Post the event a special lunch was organized for the guests along with the display of a special Sanrakshan exhibition highlighting work undertaken in Ludhiana Chapter.

Ahead of the Book Release event, DJJS Sanrakshan organized a special Press Conference was organised in Hotel Imperial, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana on Aug 5, 2017. Disciples of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, Sadhvi Aditi Bharti, Program Incharge of Nature Conservation Program of DJJS; Sadhvi Parma Bharti Ji, preacher speaker DJJS and Mr. Tarsem Singh Ji, Program Incharge My Earth My Responsibility Ludhiana Chapter spoke to the media, regarding the campaign- its journey so far and road ahead as well as the campaign report to be released.

Besided insight on the report, on behalf of DJJS Sanrakshan, Sadhvi Aditi Bharti also announced the organisations plans of undertaking a rigorous awareness generation campaign to stop rising Air Pollution in the city during the coming months. A special cyclathon to promote green living will also be organised as a part of this campaign. In addition, for furthering the objectives of the campaign, the organisation would work in specific locations of the city to create pilot models of change for effective replication. In addition, DJJS Sanrakshan re- announced MEMR’s unique “Phone for Environment initiative” wherein people from all across the city can call DJJS Nature Conservators to get tree plantation in their homes and areas as well as report water leakages in the city and called upon the media personnels to support the cause by publishing this number in their papers so that it reaches a wider audience. 

Both the press conference and book release event received wide media coverage showcasing the support of the media for the cause and campaign.

My Earth My Responsibility campaign by Sanrakshan – the Nature Conservation Program of DJJS is a state of art initiative to steer societies towards being environmentally responsible society.  DJJS is a socio-spiritual organisation headed and founded by Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji  and is working globally for the establishment of universal brotherhood and peace through nine-dimensional social reforms and welfare programs, focused on issues like gender, education, community health, drug abuse eradication, environment conservation, Indian cow breed improvement and conservation, disaster management and empowerment of disabled and prisoners, along with workshops for corporate sector and youth.
