Hundreds of DJJS Nature Conservators and nature conscious residents of Ambala took to the streets on bicycles to spread the message of ‘Live Green. Save Planet’. Dr. Arun Singh, IPS DCP Ambala, the Chief guest to the event; Mr. Karan Singh Rana, Psychiatrist SMO Civil Hospital, Ambala City; Mr. Ram Ratan Garg, DPRO member Haryana; Mr. Vipin Kumar; BJP, Ambala and Mr. Rakesh Goyal, Philanthropist along with ascetic disciples of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaja Ji, flagged off the rally from Dashehra Ground, Rambagh, Opp. civil hospital, Ambala City and participated in the cyclothon.
Traversing through the city centre, the riders raised slogans of nature conservation, appealing to the masses to take up their responsibility towards protecting environment in the city. Standing in their balconies, on streets, shops, red lights several stood gaping at the green caravan.
Today, air pollution is one of the major concerns across various cities in India, changing lifestyles and ignorant choices being primary contributors to the problem. Pro- environmental living and mindful choices are the only means of dealing with this issue. Thus, DJJS Sanrakshan is working across the country educating and steering masses on the path of pro- environmental living empowering them to combat the current environmental crisis. Sanrakshan Cyclothons are special drives to demonstrate and motivate masses towards green living.
In addition to the rally, tree plantation was also undertaken in the city to emphasise the importance of tree plantation in nature conservation. The initiative was highly appreciated by the city dwellers and was well covered by city newspapers.
