Kurukshetra: A mahila sashaktikaran sangoshthi under the name of Asmita was conducted in the Kutukshetra center of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) on 8th of Nov 2015 with around thousand women representing ten centers of DJJS in the state of Haryana.

The 3-hour session revolved around subjects ranging from ‘good touch bad touch’ on girl child molestation, ‘rising crime and violence against women’, ‘sex selective abortions’ being the worst form of violence against women (VAW), ‘holistic wellness’ including exclusive presentation by a gynecologist over ‘menstrual and maternal health care and hygiene’ and a motivational presiding over ‘attributes of 21st century women’.

Sadhvi Deepika Bharti Ji, disciple of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji and program of incharge of Santulan who had come from New Delhi to take over the 1st hour of gender sensitization session said, “Being women you have a very important role to play. Even acceptance of crime is a self-offense”. Motivating the womenfolk from the age group of 18 to 55, Sadhvi Ji said, “Crime against one woman is crime against whole womanhood, therefore it is high time, women must unite against gender injustice”.

Dr. Ruchi Jain, senior gynecologist from Cygnus hospital kurukshetra generated awareness over various gynecological issues for the 12-21, 21-45 and 45-55 age groups which was followed by a pranayama breathing exercises session for the holistic health of women and girls.

Sadhvi Tapaswini Bharti Ji, disciple of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji representing nurmahal center of DJJS took a session over ‘women as change agents of the society’. The concluding session on ‘attributes of 21st century women and their role in development’ moved the audience to the core such that they united hands to against gender injustice in the state of Haryana and pledged to become peer educators to bring about a change in their overall society.
