The society has put filters to the unconditional blessings of god. The one they think is profitable is allowed to materialise. Others are sent back to the place where they were sent from. A child is said to be a blessing of god to the couple and family to bestow loads of joy and happiness on them. But its life is imposed with the calculation of profit and loss. The countless returns of female fetuses to god grabbed the attention of DJJS to organize a sensitization drive in Gwalior.
An awareness walk of 3 hours, inculcating the value for girl child, was organized by DJJS Gwalior on July 1, 2014 in Govindpuri, Darpan colony, with an approximate count of 300 women participants. Hoardings, placards and mime were some of the awareness generating tools used. Participants chanted slogans throughout to sensitize masses to stop female feticide and save girl child.
DJJS is using every avenue to change mindsets dominated by conservatism and demonstrate true image of woman as a reflection of goddess. Numerous programs are being organized across the globe to spread the word of awareness.
Eminent personalities like Ms. Vinti Sharma from BJP and Ms. Sangeeta Sharma, Principal of ECS bagless school, Gwalior joined the drive in support of the cause.
