From a company CEO to homemaker, from social activists to soldiers at war, women have constantly shown beyond doubt that they are the untapped and underestimated Shakti reservoirs, the world is witnessing since ever. Yet there remains an unfortunate huge gap between what she gets and what she deserves. To fill this gap and establish Santulan by both empowering women and sensitizing society, DJJS Santulan is massively organizing programs and workshops under its recently launched Tu Hai Shakti against sex selective abortions. Meerut, city of UP-a state that has seen steep downfall in child sex ratio from 2001 to 2011 census, has taken the issue on priority and is ceaselessly conducting awareness programs to contribute to women empowerment and elimination of sex selective abortions from the universe, particularly targeting sensitization of women.

Kakralla Distt Muzaffarnagar, Aug 2016: An awareness desk was put at Kakralla Distt Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh by a team of 15 volunteers and preachers to diffuse the message to save and value girl child among masses. Diverse activities at the desk and exclusive exhibition displaying clarifications to myths against girl child, hidden gender facts, consequences of skewed sex ratio etc. was an invitation to many to visit the counter. The volunteers, by means of counselling, distribution of informative Santulan pamphlets and a walk through edifying exhibition, sensitized and disseminated knowledge about importance and need of gender balance and welcoming girl child.  

Kheri Village, Muzaffarnagar, Sept 2016: A group discussion was organized with 30 women at Kheri Village, Muzaffarnagar wherein, Sadhvi Lokesha Bharti ji discussed the need of balance between the two genders for society to run, same as two wheels of a bicycle. She also shed light on the increasing crime against women due to this continuing imbalance. An exquisite exhibition was also set for the attendees to enlighten them on various gender based issues and DJJS endeavours in this regard. The program was culminated with an oath by participants to be a part of the drive to save girl child and encourage girl child education.

DJJS Meerut leaving no stone unturned to ignite Shakti within women

Syed Village, Meerut, Sept 2016: A group discussion was organized with about 30 ladies at Syed Village, Meerut to share perspectives on the menace of female feticide and how to uproot it. Sadhvi Divya Yoga Bharti ji emphasized the need to awaken dormant consciousness of people and generate wisdom in society so as to become righteous. Few participants shared their personal stories of discrimination encounters in life. The program was concluded with a pledge to save and educate girl child.

B K Maheshwari Kanya Inter College, Sept  2016: A sensitization workshop was organized with about 400 participants at B K Maheshwari Kanya Inter College with young girls, who encounter discrimination every now and then. The program witnessed a dance performance on female feticide to showcase message from killed fetuses, by Santulan volunteers. Sadhvi Ji explained the importance of stability and maintenance of positivity in one’s life with the help of an audience engaging activity, by means of a lecture. Further, Sadhvi Ji accentuated on the need of empowerment at 3 levels, i.e physical, mental and spiritual level to re-attain its lost status and dignity. The program received appreciation from college faculty and principal and was invited to be a part of college's upcoming programs and extend the sensitization message to many more. The workshop was closed with an educative exhibition with display of DJJS social initiatives.

And the journey goes on, with more awareness sessions and women empowerment workshops being conducted in Lisora village, Sept 2016, Qila Parikshitgarh, Oct 2016, Syana distt, Bulandshehar, Oct 2016, Nanital Convent School, Nov 2016 and Qila Parikshitgarh, Nov 2016…
