The state of Haryana has recorded a major jump from 2011 when the state had registered the worst child sex ratio in the country at 834 girls per 1000 boys which rose to 914 girls for 1,000 boys in 2018. Sakshi malik (who won bronze medal in freestyle wrestling) and Saina Nehwal (who gave the country medal in badminton at Olympics); both come from Haryana. Saina has earlier said that her grandmother did not come to visit her when she was born because of her gender. “Even if Sakshi or Saina had done absolutely nothing that made it to the headlines but had gone on to lead perfectly ordinary, innocuous lives, they deserve the right to live. The girl child does not have to prove her worth for her to be allowed to live”, said Sadhvi Ji.

In the concluding note, Swami Ji said, “Today, we, as a society, cannot call ourselves citizens of 21st century as we are practicing such a crime like female feticide; rather, carrying such a mental lens, we belong to the 18th century only when our daughters are killed before they are born”. “The problem of female feticide is a societal problem and solutions to curb it also have to be soiled in the society only in the form of the seed of spiritual awakening”, added Swami disciple of HH Ashutosh Maharaj Ji.
