Gwalior: International Women's Day is now lionised all over the globe to celebrate womanhood and pay tribute to woman's indomitable spirit. Extending the celebration to a month, DJJS has been conducting "Annual Santulan Awards" in different places of the country. In the same vein DJJS organized Annual Santulan Awards on 29th March 2015 at Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh to honour women who have excelled in their respective fields, exemplified exceptional courage and leadership in advocating importance of women in social & economic development of the nation.

The event began with Deep Prajwalan by the Chief Guest MLA Sh. Ghanshyam Pironia Bhande and the Guest of Honour Sh. Swatantra Sharma, vice-chancellor of ITM music university of Gwalior which was followed by a dance performance on Saraswati Vandana. Team of young volunteers presented a sensitizing skit portraying women power. The audience was spellbound with the subject & performance and the appreciation was expressed in the form of tears and applauds.

Post the awareness generating performances, Sadhvi Nishchala Bharti Ji, disciple of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji delivered a though provoking lecture on how the status of women has taken a nose dive from ancient times to the present. Crime against women has captured almost every newspaper and news channel's headline that leaves their achievements and social contributions pointless.

Irrespective of the stringent laws being enforced for the safety and status upliftment of women in Madhya Pradesh, it has been tagged as the second leading state after Uttar Pradesh in crime against women and minor girls by TOI, March 2015. Such not so fortunate facts claim for more critical efforts that should be made in the state for holistic empowerment of women.

Ten outstanding women from the state were honoured by Annual Santulan Awards – Ms. Meera Srivastva principal KG School), Dr, Archana Srivastva (Prof. & Head Microbiology college of Life Science Cancer Hospital), Ms. Asha Singh (Pradesh Sanyojika Matra Shakti), Ms. Ritika Gupta (National Trainer JCI Founder Secretary Lions Club), Ms. Vinati Sharma (Jila Adhyaksh Mahila Morcha BJP), Ms. Anjali Batra (Chairperson, Rotary Dist. Community), Ms. Prerna Jain (Co-ordinator Online Service For Orphans), Ms. Anita Karkare (World Known Rangoli Artist & Social Activist in Sanskar Bharti) and Ms. Suman Agarwal (Yoga Guru).

Against this backdrop, DJJS as a socio spiritual organization working across the globe with its vision - ‘from self-awakening to global peace’ recreating not just gender balance but ensuring drug abuse eradication, nature and bovine conservation, reforming prisoners and empowerment of disabled and physically challenged too.
