Sustain Life the Sustainable Way

Everyone aspires for a rich and advanced lifestyle. Needless to mention, this advancement and richness demands investment. But, how about such an offer, which ensures a better lifestyle and that too without any investment! A lifestyle which not only enriches the appearance of our homes, but also decorates our global or big home- Mother Earth! Well, this brings into the picture the concept of Sustainable Living, which, in the contemporary times, has become a necessity rather than being a choice.

It is noteworthy that in 2015, the theme of World Environment Day, which is an International event celebrated annually on June 5th, was “Seven Billion dreams. One Planet. Consume with care.” This underscores the need to make the optimum use of the resources available on our planet and consume them with utmost care. No doubt, changing times have altered or raised the needs and desires of human beings, but the careful management of resources can help strike a perfect balance between nature and mankind. Once we achieve this balance, Sustainable Living will automatically become a part of our lives.

Let’s now understand the meaning of Sustainable Living. This concept lays emphasis on the upcycling of available products or resources, which means, they are used in such a way that ultimately, their benefit reaches both the end users, human beings and Mother Earth. ...

...We hope that all of you have care and concern for your Mother Earth. If you have this feeling, you would definitely be willing to get in tune with such a lifestyle, which is rich and supports us as well as the earth.

This time, in this drive, let’s take into consideration the upcycling of plastics, thus transforming them into useful entities.

It was highlighted by Plastic Debris in the World’s Oceans, Greenpeace in its report in 2006 that waste plastic products that got piled up, were the reason behind the harm caused to at least 267 various kinds of animal species. ...All these stats sound even more gruesome when it is said that it takes 500-1,000 years for plastic to degrade!

So, what are the innovative methods for adopting a sustainable lifestyle with respect to plastics? What can be the golden tips which provide us a smart lifestyle and turn waste products into creative pieces of art? To know this and furthermore, read the complete article in June’16 edition of English Akhand Gyan Monthly Magazine.
