Another addition to BAATCHEET: Dungarpur

2-day workshop held at ITI, Dungarpur under the project ‘BAATCHEET’ – a drive for drug free Rajasthan

a city in Rajasthan situated in the foothills of the Aravallisis , famous for its unique style of architecture in its palaces and noble residences.

Under its project BAATCHEET - a drive for drug free Rajasthan, initiated in July 2014, from Jodhpur, Bodh now has one more city added into the list of its execution point as Dungarpur. Due to its affinity with the states like Punjab which in itself is burdened with the problem of drug abuse in almost 70% of its populace if the news reports and surveys are to be taken into account, Rajasthan too is undoubtedly baring the grave and intense rise in no. of addicts day by day. And, what fuels the problem more is lack of awareness among the masses. Through planned propaganda and alluring ads propagating the exciting use of tobacco and its products displayed at every nook and corner, especially, the youth population is developing hearty inclination towards its consumption and to counteract it, actions taken do not suffice the requirements.

Therefore as an expansion of the project, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan under its drug abuse eradication program BODH began its endeavors in the city of Dungarpur as well. To start off, a two day workshop was held at Industrial Technology Institutions (ITI), where almost 500 students along with staff and the management officials were catered with the sensitization on the issue of drug abuse and how it is pulverizing the lives of its users and their loved ones with the pain and sufferings they go through. Students who attended the program got their stereotypical imagination disintegrated when they witnessed how merely experimenting with chewing tobacco can pluck their lives out.

Sadhvi  Mridula Bharti Ji, disciple of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, raised and discussed many issues pertaining to the subject which are the prime reasons for one to fall for addiction of chewing tobacco(gutka, khaini, supari), smoking and consuming alcohol. They are mainly comprised of peer pressure, following trend, fear of isolation, escapism, combating stress, inquisitiveness, let’s do once syndrome etc. She mentioned that one should not experiment with drugs for there are

80% OF PEOPLE TURNED ADDICTS WHO MAY HAVE EVER TRIED DRUGS EVEN FOR ONCE

In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the above stated facts, Sadhvi Ji called upon students on stage and creating differing situations, asked them to enact upon the various tones of ‘how to say no’. She supported her statements and facts by screening movies, some issue based documentaries and by playing few audios. Students enjoyed and learnt the ways of ‘how to say no to the bad in life’.

Staff and management also appreciated the program so much so ,that they invited and suggested the organization to conduct such workshops at each and every school, college or private institutions within the vicinity of Rajasthan.

One of the teachers said, “Imparting such kind of awareness upon the students not just saves the risk of one’s life but also the lives of their family in the long run.  For, because only a non user parent can educate and motivate his or her child to live a drug free life.”

At the end, Sadhvi Bhagirathi Bharti Ji, disciple of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji and also the coordinator of branch office of the organization at Dungarpur concluded the program and awarded the best three paintings of Poster Drawing Contest which was held on 22 September 2014 in the same premises. All the students were awarded with the certificates of participation as well.

Bodh- the drug abuse eradication program of DJJS, works for the elimination of drug abuse and eradication of drug demand through ‘Dhyan Therapy’ , thereby transforming the drug afflicted society into an abuse free society ; where people are mentally, emotionally and spiritually strong to safeguard themselves and the society against drug and substance abuse.

Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan is a multi-faceted socio-spiritual organization, founded and headed by His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji to actualize the vision of ‘Global Peace, through Self- Awakening’.
