Visiting government schools these days is not easy for the volunteers of Bodh Campaign. The age old proverb ‘Children are Innocent’ seems altercated; when they find students of even class 5th or 6th are experimenting with drugs. Whatsoever be the reason to this, but it is ringing an alarm for the society:

Alarming: Children opt for drugs to burst their stress!

Are we ready to have addicted future generations?

Probably, 5 -10 years, this young brigade will be placed in multinationals, governmental and non-governmental institutions, making the approaching time so accessible and acceptable towards drug abuse, that it may not remain a stigma or a matter of dishonor. In that case, apparently, we can see the coming generation, immersed into the sea of drugs deep down.

Alarming: Children opt for drugs to burst their stress!

After seeing such a dreadful scenario, international organizations like the United Nations, has constantly been focusing more on Prevention of substance abuse amongst youth, letting it not crop up into more no. of users and also ensures for the minimization of various other losses due to drug abuse.

On the other hand, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan under its drug abuse eradication program, BODH, focuses not only on early prevention but also emphasizes upon inculcating moral values for the sustainability of the prevention efforts for a longstanding period of time. Under its ongoing project in West Delhi, Bodh Campaign, the branch of Vishnu garden has organized a one day workshop in the school assembly catering the understanding and knowledge on ‘why one should not do Drugs’ and if offered ‘how to say no to drugs’ through skit and enlightening subject-oriented presentation. Children from class 6th to 12th attended the workshop in strength of 2,500 students along with their 80 teachers and people from the school authorities.

Mr. Vineet, disciple of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj ji, head and founder of DJJS and also an expert on drug abuse and youth’s psychology towards drug abuse, sensitized the students. ‘How to combat the peer pressure and how to be assertive in saying no to drugs’ were some of the key points of his presentation. A skit was also performed by Bodh’s volunteers, highlighting the repercussions of drug abuse on physical, financial, health and even on the social fabric of the society. Further, brochures have also been handed over to teachers and management on the importance of talking to children about drug abuse.

Bodh- the drug abuse eradication program of DJJS, works for the elimination of drug abuse and eradication of drug demand through ‘Dhyan Therapy’ , thereby transforming the drug afflicted society into an abuse free society ; where people are mentally, emotionally and spiritually strong to safeguard themselves and the society against drug addiction and substance abuse.
