Meerut: In the series of nationwide rallies being conducted by the Gender Equality program – Santulan of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) from 25th Nov 2015 i.e. International day for the elimination of Violence Against Women to 10th Dec 2015 i.e. Human Rights Day, another milestone was laid in Meerut City, the crime capital of western UP. As many as 500 women & girls walked down on the roads holding placards for 3 hours from Surajkund park to Jagrati Vihar area covering a stretch of around 5kms. At the commencement of the rally a panel discussion was held in Surajkund park amongst some eminent stakeholders of social welfare – MLA Ravinder Bhadhana, MLA Satya Prakash Aggarwal, BJP Mahila Morcha president Rekha Gupta, Dr. Amita Kaushik  from Mook Badhir Vidyalaya, Sh. Girish Bansal, president Sanatan Dharma Samiti and Sh. Gyanendra Aggarwal, representative Augernath Temple. The flag off was done by MLA Ravinder Bhadhana and MLA Satya Prakash Aggarwal. With the cause of awakening masses towards women safety and dire need to end violence against women; young and dynamic volunteers of DJJS along with participant from RGPG College and Shakuntala Devi Inter College raised slogans against Gender Based Violence.
