Art has been considered the most communicative way to express thoughts, register the dissent, mobilize the emotions and in capturing the imagination as well. But with the event arranged by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan founded/mentored by His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji under its ongoing project Bodh, (Drug Abuse Eradication Program), the children at phillaur invented the new usage of marking the concern in the form of art towards their state, when they painted the outcomes of what drug abuse has ridiculously done to their state of Punjab; though once known for its prosperity.
These vulnerable sections of children and youth in Punjab, of which half of this population is already immersed into drug addiction in the form of either as users or as addicts. They being the expected future are aimlessly getting dragged more and more towards drug abuse since all the efforts to curb the problem has been tragically diverted onto de-addicting the addicts but not on the ones who are either non- users, early users or non-addicts which otherwise accounts for a large chunk of the population of Punjab. Therefore, acknowledging the hope of change, the organization has specifically began to focus upon the young group of the society to engage them in such creative activities wherein they themselves are bound to think and express their concern against the issue of drug abuse in the society.
Our main aim of such activities is to provoke the new way of thinking about this problem and in tackling the issue with a grand and holistic vision of eradicating it completely which is otherwise adversely affecting the young people themselves. As a result, the activity has been very successful and we plan to replicate the same in other parts of Punjab as well.
These activities are being carried out under the project ‘UNMOOLAN’ launched in Punjab by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan under the stewardship of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji.
