DJJS Faridabad branch, under project Manthan SVK, organised an awareness rally against child labour in Dabua colony, Faridabad and it’s surrounding areas on 12th June, 2016. 62 children from Faridabad’s Manthan SVK center and children from nearby localities participated in the rally. The practice of child labour is a common enigma today. Large numbers of poor children are falling in its trap. Due to lack of financial support, the children are forced to work at a very little age when it is the time for them to learn & grow. The rally generated awareness among the masses through an eye opening street play, that was performed by female volunteers of DJJS & inspiring slogans orated by the rally participants .The program was adored by the masses as they came out of their houses to appreciate and support the cause. The rally began from Dabua sabzi mandi, covering Pyali Chowk, Janta colony and finally returning to the Manthan SVK center. It was a learning experience for the Manthanites as these children also belong to the rag pickers community and were forced into child labour before joining Manthan center. Today the children are studying with full enthusiasm and are glad to perceive the opportunities provided to them.
