Approximately, 450 scholars pursuing engineering at the Sunder Deep Group of Institutions, along with college management and 30 other staff members attended the workshop concerning the harmful nightmare of substance abuse and addiction, organised by Bodh - the Drug Abuse Eradication Program, of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, founded and headed by His Holiness, Shri Ashutosh Maharaj ji.

To begin with, the participants were introduced to the overall vision of the organisation, DJJS and its initiatives. Further, Mr. Vineet, an expert in the area concerned, delivered a speech on the subject of Drug Abuse and the psychological structuring of today's youth towards the inclination of substance abuse and addiction. The thematic import of his speech conveyed the multidimensional aspects about the hazardous consequences of this menace in itself.

In order to enlighten the participants, Sadhvi Shitabha Bharti ji, devotee disciple of His Holiness, Shri Ashutosh Maharaj ji delivered a profound lecture titled, 'Experimentation on Drug Abuse Leading to Addiction Unpredictable', including other informative activities, eye-opening audio visuals, factual graphs and various realistic demonstrations. In response, the students posed some sensitive questions relating the consumption of drugs, as in, "what is the harm if one consumes any form of intoxicating substance once in a while"? Answering all those questions, Sadhvi Ji, illustrated upon an insight into the very proven fact, how 80% of people, who have ever tried drugs even once in their life time, are likely to fall into the trap of addiction.

Similarly, a skit titled, "The Story Of Kabir" was enacted by the volunteers of the organisation, in order for showcasing how under the ambit of reasons like peer pressure, fear of isolation, seeking feeling of high, combating the states of boredom and stress etc, a youth begins abusing drugs and later, gets into the trap of addiction unknowingly.

The problem was further justifiably explained, by stating the examples of those considered icons from both, the national and international markets of glamour and fantasy. For example, how celebrities like Guru Dutt, Micheal Jackson, John Belushi, Josh Michael, Geetanjali Nagpal etc, had been ruined and collapsed due to excess of drug addiction.

In this way, the management department of the institute appreciated the workshop and also invited the program Bodh, for conducting such sensitizing workshops time and again, with the intention of the sustenance of the awareness generated, within the minds of the students. The Director Executive further exclaimed how such workshops on the subject inspire the students in making it the topic of their daily discourse and discussion.

Lastly, but not the least, through exhibitions and information counters, students were given detailed information and answers to their queries concerning the theme of the workshop. They also registered their resolutions against drug abuse by signing upon the board stating, ‘I Decide- I will not take Drugs for ever’.

Bodh- the drug abuse eradication program of DJJS, works for the elimination of drug abuse and eradication of drug demand through ‘Dhyan Therapy’ , thereby transforming the drug afflicted society into an abuse free society ; where people are mentally, emotionally and spiritually strong to safeguard themselves and the society against drug and substance abuse.
