A beautiful five day narration of Shiv Katha with Sadhvi Diveshi Bharti Ji as the Katha Vyas was organized for the masses of Gobindgarh, Punjab, from 16th to 20th May, 2018. Through the Katha, it was explained that, though Lord Shiv is regarded in the Sanskrit scriptures as the lord of destruction, he is not a tyrannical god. He undertakes destruction to restore balance in the universe. The myth of Tripurantak is an apt example of such a scenario. In the myth, Lord Shiv kills three demons (Taarakaaksh, Vidyunmaali and Kamalaaksh), who were his devotees as well, primarily because they had disrupted peaceful environment of heaven and earth. For the larger good, Lord Shiv did not step back from teaching a lesson to his own devotees. In this way, his destruction is not misdirected or without a purpose. The destruction is actually a process of transformation for the good.

Brahm Gyan as the Source of Inner Transformation: Shiv Katha at Gobindgarh, Punjab

Today, we humans also need to destroy the elements in each of us that are proving to be an obstacle to our inner growth. We need to transform the state of affairs that are leading us onto to the path of decadence. But, how do we do so? To answer this, we first need to understand the reason Lord Shiv is able to channelize his inner strength to bring justice in the cosmic world. Lord Shiv is also known as the Adiyogi- The Eternal Ascetic. He is the ascetic who not only has the divine knowledge (Brahm Gyan) but is the source of it too. He has his divine eye open. And, he showers his love and grace on to the humans. But to truly understand the significance and the value of the Adiyogi, one needs a True Master (Guru). A true Guru can bestow a human with Brahm Gyan and connect us to the Adiyogi, and thereby, make us receptive of his grace and love. Only an enlightened human can dive deeper to explore his/her spiritual self after having the divine eye open with the help of a true Guru. Hence, to set ourselves on to the path of spiritual knowledge we need to attain enlightenment from an enlightened spiritual Master. With eternal knowledge, we can change for the larger good, destroy the vices within, and achieve inner harmony. For this purpose, we have to start our individual spiritual journey and we can initiate this process with the grace of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji.
