Manthan - Sampoorna Vikas Kendra (SVK), the holistic education initiative of DJJS, is the manifestation of the vision and resolve of our revered Gurudev His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji. Since 2008, Manthan SVK has been working to increase literacy levels across India among all age groups. Part of this initiative is Syahi (Adult Literacy Centres), a project aimed to educate the adult population of India who have been deprived of the chance in their childhoods.
In this light, and considering the restriction COVID-19 has brought upon us, Online Signature Camps (Hastaakshar Shivir) are being organised on a pan-India level for beneficiaries to learn writing alphabets, basic words and numerals.
The recent 21-day long Camp was held from 10th August to 31st August 2021. People from across India participated in the camp with great zeal and enthusiasm. They were introduced to letters, basic numbers, phonetics, the concept of telling time on clocks, bus numbers, house numbers etc. They were also taught to write their names in English and Hindi. Simple and interesting teaching-learning methods were employed by the teachers and volunteers. An Evaluation Test was also organised for the participants to examine their learning abilities.
