“Creativity is giving oneself permission to see things differently. It is the quality that you bring to the activity you are doing. It is an attitude, an inner approach as to how you look at things” and with this perspective, Antarkranti organized a workshop on “Use of creativity as a tool for Reformation of Prisoners” for Deputy Superintendents of Tihar Jail at Prison’s Headquarters, New Delhi on December 15, 2016.

The workshop was attended by fifteen Deputy Superintendents. The speaker of DJJS, Ms. Jyoti Jain Ji began the session by briefing everyone about the organization and the project, Antarkranti. It was then followed by another motivational session by Sr. Communication Designer, Ms. Sonia Chaudhary Ji in which the officers were involved in various activities helping them unleash their creativity. The objective of this program was to know the prominence of Creative Arts as a tool for transforming the prisoners to support them in achieving mental stability and spiritual well-being by being more focused, balanced and novel.

The workshop was a refreshing and enriching experience with loads of laughter, creativity and pearls of wisdom in their otherwise busy and demanding life. The response from the officers was overwhelming and they showed great interest to attend such workshops in future as well.
