A seeker can never reach the pinnacle of spirituality without devotion. But do we know the way to infuse an unshakable faith? To answer the same, Sadhvi Lokesha Bharti Ji along with a team of trained musician disciples of DJJS presented a Devotional Concert at Kumbh Mela, Prayagraj on 6 February 2019. Sadhvi Ji narrated the example of Devi Parvati. Devi performed Shiv Aradhana in the truest sense, i.e., she undertook a severe penance to achieve Lord Shiv. Her commitment to her cause, asserted Sadhvi Ji, was so strong that in the end Lord Shiv had to appear before her. She became the devotee among devotees of Lord Shiv. She remains an epitome of spiritual faithfulness. Her story, thus, holds the solution to the problem of a frail spiritual devotion.
Devi Parvati’s journey to Lord Shiv wasn’t an easy one. When she first expressed her desire to have Lord Shiv as her husband to her parents, they disapproved her wish. Her parents didn’t want her to live the life of an ascetic because Lord Shiv was himself the Lord of asceticism. Sadhvi Ji said that Devi Parvati’s parents weren’t enlightened humans. They couldn’t see the true worth of the spiritual path. Similarly, argued Sadhvi Ji, this happens in our lives as well. People discourage us in our quest for the ultimate knowledge because they too are unaware of the universal truth. However, to Devi Parvati’s advantage, she had the divine knowledge by the grace a Guru.
The purpose of human birth is the realization of God within and it is the Guru who alone can show us the same. The Guru grants us the divine knowledge through the technique of Brahm Gyan. Though Devi Parvati is the supreme goddess herself, she as a human being attained the eternal knowledge from the Saptrishi (the seven celestial sages) who first tested her dedication and then graced her with Brahm Gyan. The knowledge aided her in attaining Lord Shiv forever. The foundation of her faith, hence, was Brahm Gyan. Her life narrative is a symbolic message for all of us. Today, concluded Sadhvi Ji, we all can also attain the spiritual knowledge which Devi Parvati had. His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji is one such benevolent true Guru of our time who can show us the divine within.
