“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the World!” articulated Nelson Mandela. But the education that is imparted in schools and universities at present seems to hold good for creating managers, engineers, doctors, architects, designers, and not a true human being. The main concern for education should be to create an ethical standards in the educational system. Unfortunately, education and monetary gains have become the two arms of the scale. The costliest education is considered to be the best. The personality of an individual is linked to the percentage of marks. To secure favors, even by unfair means on the basis of power commanded by the Chair, has become order of the day. Professions that are money spinning have risen in prominence. With no mission in life and with moral bankruptcy, one cannot contribute anything tangible for the real growth of the society as a whole. All aspects of life have become money-oriented. Remember, ultimately, monetary gains have problems attached, which baffle solution. The innate talents of a student should not be suppressed for acquiring degrees, with the sole purpose of amassing wealth. The education system should not dwarf one. That which helps one’s inner growth is the real education. If what is taught in Colleges and Universities is real education, why this world is engulfed in hatred and intolerance, instead of mutual love? Education should be preparation for one’s life. Presently, the whole edifice of modern civilization has begun to crumble due to dominance of wrong values. Education should be conducive to identify and nourish the God-given talents within one. It can then, lift one up. Otherwise, one will continue to live the life of compromises at every stage of one’s life. One can learn from anyone, only the process of learning; but the real self-growth has to be attained by one's own efforts and dedication. The objective of real education is to mold great individuals. Towards this end, both have vital roles to play-the schools and the parents.
With the aim of stepping up the process of establishing of holistic education, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) has been making relentless efforts. DJJS, a non- government, non-profit and a leading socio-spiritual organization, whose Founder and Head is His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, organized an event of ‘Motivational Workshop’ on 7th November, 2016 at Sarv Hitkari Vidya Mandir School, Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
Under the patronage of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, this one day divine motivational workshop was conducted. The event commenced with lighting the lamp by chief guests - Shelly Sharma (Principal- Sarvhitkari Vishwa Mandir School), Swami Sajjananand Ji (Preacher- DJJS) and Swami Vigyananand Ji (Preacher- DJJS).
In his motivational lecture, Swami Vigyananand Ji, devoted disciple of revered Spiritual Master- His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, shared his divine experiences. He said that in today’s highly competitive and materialistic world, it’s very imperative to stimulate the code of ethics and spiritual values in students. Today’s education system is only creating an intellectual and individual supporting materialistic value. He may be able to earn huge pay packets but it is difficult for him to fill the void created by lack of mental peace and ethical values.
During the Workshop, many interesting and fun activities were conducted to make students learn important codes of leading a good and successful life. Many students took pledge that they will never accept drugs in their life. They learnt and vowed that they will always be sensitive towards their surroundings, they will safeguard nature, will perform yoga exercises to promote health and fitness in the society. They will always obey their elders and will perform their duties and responsibilities as responsible citizens of the country.
The workshop thus successfully boosted the morale of the participants and they were motivated to become the proud, intelligent and awakened souls of India while emphasizing the theme that the students need to become the ideal and responsible members of the society.
