International Day of Yoga celebrated on June 21, this year carried the theme of ‘Yoga for Self and Society’. Keeping with the theme Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan’s Holistic Health Program Aarogya took the initiative of spreading the essence of yoga across the globe to touch various lives.
Yoga, a practice that originated in India was losing its essence with mere physical training being attributed to it, but over the years DJJS Aaorgya through its various initiatives has brought forth the real meaning of Yoga, which is the synchronization of mind, body, and soul, for the society. It is a practice that combines physical activity (asanas) with controlled breathing (pranayama) and meditation. The primary purpose of Yoga is to help an individual balance their life by having a strong mind, healthy body, and enlightened soul. The world recognizes this transformative power of Yoga and hence its celebration on International Yoga Day attracts droves of people.
Aarogya celebrated the International Yoga Day 2024, by organizing 97 Vilakshan Yoga Shivirs across the states and countries and took this magnificent practice to the people to help them improve their life by making yoga a part of their lifestyle. Aarogya managed to touch 50,000 lives and spread the message of yoga to different parts of the world.
In the DJJS Aarogya Yoga camps, the lifestyle challenges of current times were addressed in detail. Participants were educated about various physical and mental health concerns arising from eating habits, sleeping patterns, and work culture. Common issues such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, depression, anxiety, and heart disease were also highlighted. Yoga was presented as a comprehensive solution that assists in lowering stress, managing weight, increasing flexibility, improving sleep, and boosting muscle strength.
