World Health Day celebrated on April 7 every year had a mind-boggling theme this year 2024- “My Health, My Right”. Aarogya championed a month-long campaign to spread awareness around the theme of World Health Day this year.
Aarogya is the holistic health initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan. It was started in 2003 to raise the right awareness and support to aid society to achieve holistic health. With the same zeal and intentions, this campaign was taken across different states enlightening people about overall wellbeing —catering to physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
Aarogya organized a total of 45 workshops with various themes addressing a total of 6247 people. The health workshops were facilitated by DJJS Preachers and graced by various guest speakers and experts in different fields of healthcare — medicine, ayurveda, homeopathy, dentistry, naturopathy, and others who briefed the audience about ways to manage health and basics of healthy lifestyle through their lens of expertise.
The workshops catered to topics like holistic health, junk food vs. healthy food, health and hygiene (oral care, eye care, ear care), yoga, and balance of mind, body, and soul. The workshops were interactive and informative with various activities, plays, music, and competitions.
In Uttarakhand, 11 workshops were conducted by the Pithoragarh branch of DJJS benefitting 1330 people-
In Uttar Pradesh, 7 workshops were conducted by the Aligarh, Bareilly, and Ghaziabad branches of DJJS benefitting 1,111 people-
In Punjab, 3 workshops were conducted by the Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Bathinda branches of DJJS benefitting 1080 people-
In Rajasthan, 2 workshops were conducted by Jodhpur branch of DJJS benefitting 250 people.
In Gujarat, a health workshop was conducted on April 7 by the Ahmedabad branch of DJJS at Ayyappa Temple Hall, Jantanagar, Chandkheda benefitting 110 people.
In Maharashtra, 13 workshops were conducted by Amravati, Chakan, Pathardi, Latur and Nagpur branch of DJJS benefitting 1885 people-
In Bihar, 6 workshops were conducted by the Padampur branch of DJJS benefitting 405 people-
In Odisha, a health workshop was conducted on April 19 by the Sambalpur branch of DJJS at Khapanpali, Bargarh benefitting 25 people.
In California, a health workshop was conducted on April 28 by the Fresno branch of DJJS at 4925 S.Minnewawa ave, Fresno benefitting 51 people.
These workshops were extensively covered by print media both local and national like Punjab Kesri, Dainik Jagran, Dainik Savera, Jag Marg, Divya Himachal, Dainik Navjyoti, Sarhad Kesri etc. The highlights of the event were also shared on the social media page of Aarogya. The event was a huge success and was positively received at both - online and offline platforms.
