On 20 July 2017, State Government of Gujarat called a meeting of all Non- governmental and spiritual organization at Mahatma Gandhi Temple, Gandhinagar, to seek their participation in the upcoming “Maa Narmada Mahotsav” from 27 July to 12 August 2017. DJJS Ahmedabad Centre was also a special invitee to the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijay Bhai Rupani. In addition, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Nitin Bhai Patel; Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Pradeepsinh Bhagwatsinh Jadeja; Mr. Mathur Bhai Savani; Shri Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust and Mr. Dhananjay Dwivedi, IAS Secretary Science & Technology Department, were other eminent members on the dice. The agenda of the meeting was to apprise the organizations regarding the upcoming Maa Narmada Mahotsav initiative planned by the government to raise social consciousness of people regarding the benefits of elaborate canal system developed by the govt. to distribute the water of Holy Narmada to various villages for supporting domestic, agricultural and industrial needs of the area.

A broad outline of the 17 day long Rath yatra was shared with the assembled organizations and their participation was in diverse ways was called for so as to make the initiative a success. The initiative was seen by the Govt. as an opportunity to liaise, learn and work with NGO’s and spiritual organization for longterm benefit of the society.

Towards the end of the program certain organization were asked to share their work with the group, in line with this DJJS preacher, ascetic disciple of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, Sadhvi Richa Bharti ji shared the elaborate socio- spiritual initiatives undertaken by DJJS across the country to sensitize, awaken and engage people in self- development and social reformation. Post – meeting DJJS representatives were also invited for a special lunch with dignitaries.
