Navratri is considered a sacred opportunity to worship the Divine Mother Durga-embodiment of power and strength. This festival of nine days dedicated to nine forms of Shakti, Mother Goddess was celebrated at Shri Ram Chandra Mandir, Hawa Mahal Road, Jaipur on October 17, 2013. The program was not just limited to worshipping the goddesses, but sensitizing masses to respect and welcome the reflections of Maa Durga-the little girls by voicing against female feticide. Program started with bhajans followed by a sensitizing discourse delivery by Sadhvi Arya Bharti ji, on the physical and mental strain that a woman goes through when her female fetus is killed without her consent. Exhibition was set up post the event for attendees' queries. Many visited the exhibition, discussed their views on the cause and got themselves enrolled in support of the drive against sex selective abortions.
