Moving towards the vision to create a society with gender just outlook, DJJS commemorated Lohri festival at by purveying a social message to save girl child. The program was based on dowry system, one of the major reasons behind increasing sex selective abortions. The program took off with cause based skit portraying the torture by a family to their daughter-in-law for not bringing in sufficient dowry evidencing deteriorating value and status of women. Sadhvi Yogeshwari Bharti ji took the program forward by delivering a discourse on lowered status of women and increasing crimes, dowry-killing being the heinous. As a tradition, the program was concluded with a bon-fire.
