Enriching Co-Curricular Learning Experiences at Manthan SVK

Academic curriculum when integrated with co-curricular activities augments the ability to learn and explore in students. The elements of non-academic curriculum helps to evolve the various facets of personality development of the students by identifying with their strengths and interests. Manthan Sampoorna Vikas Kendra (SVK), the holistic education program of DJJS, running under the stewardship of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji aims to bridge the gap by providing enrichment classes through supplementary schooling to the underprivileged children of remote villages and urban slums to nourish their core educational foundation. Holistic development essentially means intellectual, physical, emotional, spiritual, moral, and social development that is complemented by co-curricular learning experiences.

In the month of July 2022, Manthan SVKs organized exclusive activities apart from the traditional classroom learnings for the students. More than 879 students including new students from offline classes that have now fully resumed at Manthan SVKs participated in these virtual workshops. The online workshops that were conducted are such as -

Sangeetshala imparted learning Sanskrit songs, shlokas and storytelling sessions.

Jeevan Kaushal Karyashala taught skills on effective time management for students and first aid session on how to manage both emotionally and mentally a medical emergency.

Aao Karein Bharat Ki Sair illustrated a virtual tour about the majestic state of Rajasthan, starting from its geographical area, reminiscent of the historic battles, cultural values inclusively like festivals, cuisine, folk music, dance forms, national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, heritage places, eminent heroes and state contributors were showcased to the students.

नींव- Nurturing Strong Future emphasized students set their focus on their needs rather than desires. Naitik Shiksha Satra steered moral lessons and the importance of having a true Guru in one’s lives was elucidated by the preachers from across all DJJS branches. Students celebrated Guru Purnima with zeal and enthusiastically participated in the online spiritual test.

Manthan SVKs, virtual workshops for co-curricular activities widens the learning horizons for children by fueling value-based education. The learning experience is nourished with recreation wherein students perform dances, singing, poem and shloka recitations, quizzes, puppet making and many more activities. Practical experiences are a significant ingredient of life, that gradually makes way for being inclusive in the community. Theoretical knowledge gets strengthened to a greater extent when a relevant co-curricular activity is organized mirroring the academic curriculum.
