According to a recent survey, nearly 70% of people above 65 years of age are suffering from arthritis in India and it is all set to become the biggest epidemic of the country by 2020. While osteoarthritis strikes people aged 65 years and above; but of late, the younger population is also found suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, which is presenting a grim situation before the nation.

The camp started with formal inauguration and introduction of the medical team. While addressing the gathering, Dr. Sushil Kumar Agarwal (Senior Consultant MBBS, DNB Orthopedics/Orthopedic Surgery, MNAMS), in his inaugural speech said, "Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and low back pain are common problems being faced by people of all age-groups today.  If not treated at its early stage, it can lead to a serious restriction on movement,  thereby become a big problem. Joint and muscle pain are an unfortunate part of daily life, especially for those suffering from autoimmune disorders. But it's possible to manage the pain by consulting your doctor and taking appropriate steps. Body pain and stiffness might sound a usual problem, but it can turn out to be severely detrimental for your body and happy living.”
