The sacred month of Sawan ushered in the joyous festival of Teej, celebrated across northern India, western India and in Nepal, with devotion and festivity. Traditionally associated with swings, mehandi and folk songs, Teej is widely regarded as the festival commemorating the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

But behind this symbolic union lies a story of discipline, inner awakening and transformation, one that DJJS Santulan, under the guidance of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, brought alive through its 2025 theme: “Swayam Se Sakshaatkar” (Self-Realization).

DJJS Santulan revealed the real essence of Teej, which marks the day when Lord Shiva accepted Goddess Parvati as His divine consort. He became Her Guru and bestowed Her with Brahmgyan. Goddess Parvati began Her spiritual journey, with unwavering determination, immersing Herself in deep meditation. She could rise above all kinds of distractions, silenced Her mind and with steadfast discipline and devotion, meditated only upon the Divine. And gradually transitioned from being a seeker into Adi Shakti, the primordial source of power and divinity.

Teej, thus inspires every woman to realize her highest potential and encourages them to embark on their personal journey of self-realisation. The festival reminds us that true celebration lies not merely in external adornments but in the discovery of the divine potential within.

On this theme, DJJS Santulan organised grand Teej events across multiple Indian cities including Agra, Aligarh, Dwarka, Faridabad, Gwalior, Jaipur, Kotakpur, Meerut, Moga, Muktsar Sahib, Noida, Pathankot, and Sunam, where women participated with unmatched enthusiasm.

Through several innovative fun activities, DJJS Santulan breathed new life into the celebrations of Teej. Hundreds of women participants across India enthusiastically engaged in discussions, performances and reflections, leaving with gleaming eyes and renewed confidence. The message resonated loud and clear: Every woman carries within her the essence of Adi Shakti, waiting to be awakened. Just as Goddess Parvati could overturn obstacles into stepping stones, so too can women today rise beyond roles, doubts, and limitations to discover their highest potential.

The Women Empowerment and Gender Equality initiative ‘Santulan’ of DJJS under the stewardship of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji is running with the aim of reinstating ‘status of women’ as in the Vedic times. Santulan has been incessantly working towards alleviating women from the vicious cycle of subordination through Spiritual Empowerment and eventually carving them as 21st Century Vedic Women.

DJJS, through its multi-dimensional social reform programs, continues to work across domains such as education, drug abuse eradication, environment conservation, community health, disaster relief, and prisoner reformation, carrying forward its mission of establishing universal brotherhood and peace.
