Health is wealth. We all have heard this phrase so many times. But do we really realize it’s significance. Josh Billings has very well said “Health is like money. We never have a true idea of its value until we lose it”. Health is our greatest wealth. Childhood plays a very important role in establishing the foundation of a healthy future. To maintain the health of the children, Manthan-SVK organizes multiple health check-up camps at regular time intervals. Manthan-SVK is an initiative by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan which is working relentlessly for the benefit of underprivileged children of the society.

Health check-up camps organized in Manthan-SVK centres in the month of July for the benefit of children

At Rithala centre, Dr. Shailendra conducted a general health camp for the children. At Shakurpur and Badli centre, Dr. N K Pal conducted the eye check-up camp. A similar eye check-up camp was held in Vikaspuri by Dr. Pal. At Mangolpuri centre, dental camp was organized by Dr. Jyoti at which brushes and toothpaste were also distributed to the children for their oral health. She also taught a proper way of brushing teeth to the children. At Nawada centre, Sapient organized a hygiene check-up as well as a dietician for the children. This was conducted by Ms. Manju Mathur, who is former chief dietician and head of department of dietetics at Government Medical College and hospital in Chandigarh. At Faridabad centre, eye check-up camp was held in which 35 students were the beneficiaries. Team members of this camp were Pradhan M.L. Arora Ji, Prasotlal Matta Ji (Vice president of eye hospital), Dr. Kumar R.K. (M.B.B.S/M.D), Assistants Jaswant Singh Ji, Sudesh Bhatia Ji, Daya Shankar Ji and Surender Gandhi Ji. Eyes test camp was organised with the help of Kapil Eyes hospital Ambala city and Saksham Ambala. In this camp Mr Parmod Garg, Mrs Meena Garg, Mr kiran Chin bar Mr B.S. Bhalla From Saksham, Mr Lekhpal optometrist and Mr Raman from Kapil Eye Hospital examined the students.

All doctors examined the health of the children and told them very simple and effective measures to keep them clean. Through acting, children were taught how to properly clean teeth and also distributed free toothpaste and brushes. The doctor was also given proper advice to avoid diseases caused by severe heat and rain.

The purpose of these medical camps is not only to cure but also to make people aware about regular check-ups to prevent diseases so that they can be treated better in time and they can lead healthy lives. In the end, all the doctors were thanked for their valuable time and their suggestions.
