In the words of Brigham Young, “True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what’s right.” Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan (DJJS) supported this statement and celebrated Independence Day not just with fun and frolic but also laid down the importance of being responsible citizens of India through its holistic education program, Manthan. All 17 Manthan SVK (Sampoorna Vikas Kendra) centres commemorated this special day, however, Punjab and Bihar facilitated the celebration on a large scale.
The three major centres in Bihar where the celebration was done at a large scale were Padampur (Saharsa, Bihar), Parsauni (Barahi Saharsa, Bihar) and Bodh Gaya (Bakror, Gaya, Bihar). The Padampur, Parsauni and Bodh Gaya centres had 500, 350 and 250 beneficiaries respectively. The programs at these centres included flag hoisting, rallies, speeches, plays and dance performances.
On 15th August, 2016, all centres paid a tribute to the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and celebrated Independence Day with a series of events. The chief guests in the Punjab Manthan SVKs were Mr. Rakesh Kapoor (industrialist and a social activist), Mr. Balbir Gupta (Trustee Durga Mata Mandir Committee), Mr. Rajneesh Dhiman (General Secretary, BJP Ludhiana) and the preachers present were Sadhavi Ambalika Bharti, Sadhavi Ravneet Bharti, Sadhavi Om Prabha Bharti and Swami Prakashanand ji. There were 900 beneficiaries and 250 students involved in the event. The day kick started with a prayer, followed by lamp lighting and flag hoisting by the chief guests. The event was themed as “Jai Bharat” where a fantastic chorographical dance performance was made by the Manthan students of New Kichlu Nagar. The one act play “Shikhsha ka suraj hai nikala” highlighted the value of education in our country through remarkable staging and acting. Sadhavi Ambalika Bharti ji enlightened the audience by stating the difference between India and Bharat explaining the real name meaning of Independence. Parents were sensitized towards their children’s education and special care. This event was successfully closed with a cultural song by the Manthanites. Having experienced such miraculous performances and awareness sessions, the audience really appreciated the talent and efforts of the students and promised to support the Manthan project in whatever way they can.
