For Santulan, the women-empowerment and gender equality initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), the idea of Independence has always extended far beyond political freedom. True independence, as envisioned under the divine guidance of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, is the awakening of inner strength, the reclaiming of dignity, and the restoration of balance in society, especially for the daughters of this nation whose contributions have been overlooked for generations. With this spirit, the month of August 2025 became a vibrant canvas for Santulan to honour India’s brave women and reignite public consciousness about their unmatched sacrifices.

Carrying forward its longstanding tradition of highlighting the forgotten heroines of India’s freedom struggle, Santulan observed August 2025 with its signature theme “Let’s Recall Their Sacrifices.” Through this initiative, volunteers paid heartfelt tribute to legendary women such as Rani Lakshmibai, whose valour continues to inspire generations. As part of this tribute, an impactful biographical presentation on the life and courage of Rani Lakshmibai was showcased, stirring patriotic pride and reminding viewers of the fire and resilience of India’s warrior women. The message shared by the Sanyasi Sadhvis, disciples of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji beautifully reinstated the idea that India’s freedom is inseparable from the sacrifices of its fearless women heroes.
In alignment with this theme, August also witnessed a series of sensitization efforts and awareness activities conducted by Santulan across India. Inspirational talks and interactive sessions on the lives, bravery, and sacrifices of women revolutionaries who shaped India’s freedom struggle. Dance ballets and theatrical performances depicting the undying spirit, martyrdom, and leadership qualities of historic heroines. Awakening skits showcasing the determination and boldness of women leaders, encouraging today’s girls to redefine their potential. Engaging activities and reflective discussions designed to break stereotypes and challenge age-old gender norms.

The organisation continued its mission of awakening society toward gender equality, encouraging people to challenge stereotypes, discard discriminatory mindsets, and embrace a vision of India where women stand empowered, respected, and free from invisible shackles. Through creative expressions, social outreach, and thought-provoking presentations, Santulan highlighted that while the nation celebrates its independence, it must also honour those women who fought not just for the country, but for its soul.
The August 2025 Independence Day commemoration thus became not merely an annual observance, but a reminder of the debt the nation owes to its unsung women freedom fighters and a call to restore women to their rightful place in society.
With every campaign, every message, and every act of awareness, Santulan continues to echo one profound truth: a nation is truly free only when its women are empowered, honoured, and awakened to their limitless potential. The initiative stands as a heartfelt tribute to India’s forgotten female revolutionaries and a clarion call to modern society: empower women, honor their legacy, and march forward towards a truly independent India.
