The Jalandhar branch of DJJS was invited during the shivratri mela to organize a free medical and drug awareness camp at Deep Nagar Cantt, Jalandhar, Punjab. More than 5,000 people got benefitted through the services available at de-addiction camp organized and also countless got sensitized about the issue of drug abuse. The volunteer team of Bodh program wearing blue jackets spread the message with their unflinching enthusiasm and also counselled people personally or in groups.

The skit realistically portrayed the characters to display how and what one goes through when fall into any sort of addiction. It also showcased how negative consequences of substance consumption are unavoidable and incurable.

Similarly, volunteers drew the attention of people towards the other side of consuming intoxicant substances like alcohol, tobacco etc. that causes various health issues and mental disturbances in the longer run. They also discussed the demand and supply graph of economics that states about the directly proportional relationship between the two. If the demand side is subdued, the supply side will automatically be shewed and therefore helps in bridling the proliferation of illegal drug production and cultivation. Those who were taking their stroll in the mela responded enthusiastically and expressed to raise voice against the production of drugs and alcoholic beverages.

After the skit, people were counseled individually on the significance of the knowledge of the self which awakens a person at the level of one's soul from all other lowly traits to be able to distinguish between the right and the wrong.

The event was organized under the banner of ‘Drug Free Mahashivratri’ campaign initiated by the organization at various states across the nation.
