Kamdhenu Gaushala: The Storehouse of Bright Future!

Kamdhenu Gaushala saw the dawn of a better and brighter tomorrow. A great day indeed! Three prominent and esteemed ‘Government of India’ representatives visited the Nurmahal (Punjab) premises. The dignitaries need little introduction as they are well known in the field:

1. Dr. S.Ayyappan
Secretary of the department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India as well as Director General of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) , New Delhi.

2. Dr. KML Pathak

3. Dr. Vijay Kumar Taneja

Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, GADVASU, Ludhiana, Punjab.     

The DG and DDG happily stated, “That it was a wish fulfilled today- The beautiful vision of our revered Indigenous Indian breeds of Cows (Sahiwal, Gir, Tharparkar and Kankrej) all under one roof.” All three esteemed guests spent quality time with the cattle’s, and stroked them. The cows too returned their affection by nuzzling the guests. This rare bond was appreciated by the eminent guests. 
Further, Dr. Ayyappan said that they have learnt and gained a lot from the visit. The dedication and love showered on the cows and caring them with the attitude of reverential service is unsurpassed. He exclaimed that it is a sight indeed to observe a rare exquisite herd, a dynamic management all at one place. “The indigenous breeds at ‘Kamdhenu Gaushala’ are a National Asset”, he declared.

Dr. KLM Pathak commented on the scientifically monitored care extended to the breeds, and said the practice should be followed by others too. He praised the maintenance of complete data record for progeny testing, and said it was a good effort on the part of the Gaushala. He felt exalted being a part of the visit, and said he would like to extend collaboration with Kamdhenu Gaushala, so that the great work can be extended throughout the country.

Dr. Vijay Taneja too expressed his heart felt feelings in a similar vein. He had visited Kamadhenu Gaushala previously too.

They all expressed their wish to partake the nutritious milk of these exemplary breeds, and reverently had milk.

Along with Kamdhenu Gaushala, the guests also visited Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ayurvedic Pharmacy, and saw the preparation of Ayurvedic products from the milk of indigenous breed’s, and cow-urine popularly known as Gayatri rasayan etc.
