Co-curricular learning is an approach where children participate in experiential learning through activities and begin to apply these learning concepts in varied fields throughout their life journey. Manthan Sampoorna Vikas Kendra (SVK), the holistic education program of DJJS, aims to stimulate its students academically and creatively, and help them develop new skills that connect to students’ academic and career goals. DJJS Manthan SVK, has a well-planned co-curriculum methodology wherein the students are enabled with opportunities to explore their interests and abilities.
In the month of September 2022, 1154 students participated in these virtual and offline workshops organised by DJJS Manthan SVKs across the country. The workshops that were conducted are such as -
- Sangeetshala imparted learning Sanskrit songs, shlokas and storytelling sessions.
- नींव-Nurturing Strong Future a session on ‘India in the next decades and you’ facilitated by Mr. Sunil Garg, Director WPFH Technology. Just like the way India is ahead of the curve and brimming with confidence, children need to cultivate skills such as creative thinking, collaboration etc, that will help in grooming them to be better citizens. These explorations not only pave the way for their future but the future of the country also as they will grow up to become part of the force contributing towards the development of the country.
- Naitik Shiksha Satra workshops were facilitated by Sadhvi Hararchana Bharti Ji, Preacher DJJS, on the impactful learning experiences children can take away from ‘Vedic Gurukul’ education system.
- Jeevan Kaushal Karyashala workshops were facilitated by Sadhvi Aneesha Bharti Ji, on the two parameters that life is ruled by ‘Positivity and Negativity’. Whatever we believe to perform and achieve, is the outcome of all those thoughts and actions ruled by these two.
- Prernatamak Sanskarshala workshops were facilitated by preachers of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan and Manthan SVK volunteers across all DJJS branches. Children were encouraged to draw inspirations from relevant sources such as sages, parents, teachers, nature and revolutionaries who courageously fought for the nation by self-sacrifice. To achieve their goals in life, the key to success is to seek and follow the directions of our revered Gurudev Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji by staying spiritually rooted.
- Bharat Gaurav Gatha- Aao Karein Bharat Ki Sair illustrated a virtual tour about the majestic state of Uttar Pradesh, starting from its geographical area, reminiscent of the historic battles, cultural values inclusively like festivals, cuisine, folk music, dance forms, national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, heritage places, eminent heroes and state contributors were showcased to the students.
- In the ongoing Daan Utsav 2022 by Manthan-SVK the members of Engineers Club visited the Manthan-SVK Patel Nagar and distributed stationary and other school supplies. Along with this, students also visited DAV School, Rohini’s Atal Lab. Children had the opportunity to explore the environment around them, inspire wonder and search for answers to questions that are relevant to their daily lives.
It is evident that through co-curricular activities, the learning process is much easier and concepts are retained effectively. All these above mentioned workshops, sessions, virtual and offline tours are the ideal examples of it. The children and volunteers paid their humble salutations and thanked Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji with whose divine grace, Manthan-SVK has been organizing such ground-breaking activities.
