Childhood is a time when the mind is at its most innocent phase. This is a period of utmost innocence and relaxation. But in today’s modern era where even the youngest are not safe from the cruelties in this world, it is very important to teach the children about their safety. Children need to be made aware of the different kinds of people in the society. One step towards this awareness was taken by Manthan-SVK, an initiative by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan which is working relentlessly for the benefit of the children of the underprivileged sections of the society. Manthan-SVK organizes such sessions from time to time in which life lessons are taught to the children.
One such session was organized in Rithala centre of Manthan on 22 July 2019. The topic of the session was “Safe and unsafe touch”. This session was taken by Sadhvi Aneesha Bharti Ji. She explained the topic to the children through academic illustrations, educational videos and acting, No-touch zone i.e. information about non-touching parts. If he/she does not feel good to touch his/her body, then he/she must be firmly opposed and tell such a thing to their parents, teacher or any other believer. She also taught how they should respond in such a situation. She taught them to say "No" by stressing on the unsafe touch.
In addition to the children, Sadhvi ji also educated Rithala teachers about how they can play an important role in protecting the children from sexual harassment as a teacher. Also, they suggest very simple but effective remedies. The house address and one or two phone numbers must be remembered, the little children very easily believe in anyone, so tell them not to believe any one easily whom they do not know, do not go anywhere with them or take any of his given things. Such sessions are considered very important in the growth process of the children. Children understood the message conveyed by Sadhvi Ji and pledged to be careful in future.
