Committed to raising social responsibility towards environment, DJJS Sanrakshan under its My Earth My Responsibility campaign head started its school engagement program today. DJJS Sanrakshan team Ludhiana, undertook a special school environment advocacy workshop at Decent Public School, Ludhiana.
Around 700 students from grade 8 till grade 12, along with 50 faculty members participated in the workshop. Swami Vikasanand ji and Sadhvi Mimansa Bharti, disciples of His holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj ji, founder and head of DJJS undertook the workshop.
After a general introduction of the format and motive of My Earth My Responsibility campaign, Sadhvi ji took students through the ‘Story of the Mother Earth’ emphasizing the fact that ignorant human action lies at the core of current environmental degradation. As she revealed, the statistics on the current state of environment, students listened in rapt attention.
At the culmination of the workshop students and faculty were seen signing their personal memos of commitment towards saving mother earth on the My Earth My Responsibility- My Commitment Board. To harness the potential of schools in environmental action, MEMR formed its first Sanrakshan Club at Decent School to ensure proactive engagement of children and faculty in betterment of environment.
