A full day workshop was organized at Manthan-SVK, Shakurpur, New Delhi on 12th October, 2016, especially for the alumni’s of Shakurpur- Sampoorna Vikas Kendra. These adolescent students after getting after school care nurturing at Manthan till 10th standard, are now studying in class 11th, 12th and colleges respectively. Nearly 30 alumni students attended the workshop.
Without life skills, such as the ability to translate knowledge into action, behave responsibly, healthy living, developing positive attitude and building self-confidence, teens are not well prepared for future stage of development.
Therefore the aim of the workshop was to make students aware about their overall responsibilities, checking upon their inner state of health, how essential it is to establish a continuous connectivity with positive thoughts and thinking. A short activity was done to give away the message to students on the theme; ‘You are special’.
The day’s workshop included a short life skill session which was taken by Manthan-teachers; Ms. Ekta accompanied by Ms. Chetna. This was followed by activity oriented moral session taken by DJJS preachers, Sadhvi Ruchi Bharti ji and Sadhvi Deepika Bharti ji.
The messages were very interestingly conveyed to the students using exciting tools like extempore, quiz, brain-teasers, video sessions and mock interactions in pairs. Students showed their active participation all through-out and learnt with great zeal and enjoyment. A girl named, Deepika asked if she can bring her friends along with in the next moral session, so that her friends can also get the right direction. Also, Khushboo Verma who is pursuing, electrical and digital engineering said ‘’I had a great day attending this session, lots of learning with fun and pleasure went throughout; when would it next going to happen”.
