Under its holistic health program ‘Aarogya’, Bengaluru branch of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) organized one day Health Awareness Workshop-‘सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः’ at Sneha Islands, Guntupalli, Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh on 20th of May 2018 from 7am to 5pm. This workshop was conceived, designed and executed by Preachers at DJJS Bengaluru. It aimed mainly on Ayurveda, Yoga and Balanced diet for healthy and integrated living and which was very well conveyed with interactive & group discussions, Questionnaire & inspirational talk sessions and power point presentations.
The workshop began with the recitation of Om Chanting and explanation of its benefits on environment and one’s mind. Swami Pradeepanand ji undertook Yoga & Pranayama session, wherein the participants were taught the most effective & basic yogasana and pranayama techniques such as Padmasana, Vajrasan, Suryanamskar, Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, Chakrasana, Shalabasana, Shirsasan, and Swastikasan. Bhastrika, Anuloma-Viloma, Kapalbhati, Bhramri, Jalandhara Bandha, Uddiyana Bandha, Mula Bandha,etc. through live demonstrations. He spoke about the benefits of Yogasanas, Pranayama and Meditation practices on physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
An introduction about Ayurveda was given by Sadhvi Nishanka Bharti ji, sensitizing on the objective of Ayurveda in essence. She said that Proper & balanced Diet is one the pillars of Ayurveda for maintaining healthy and holistic lifestyle. “We are, quite literally, what we eat" and everything we eat becomes a part of not only our inner being, but the outer fabric of our body as well”. In an interactive session, participants discussed on simple, healthy & vegetarian food choices for holistic health.
By quoting various examples, Sadhvi ji exhorted that we should harbor positive thoughts for good health as mind is a very powerful tool in both causing and curing any disease, and hence, mental discipline and adherence to moral and ethical values are considered a pre-requisite for health. Hence, praying and meditation is considered to be a vital health support system.
Group meditation was done by all the participants. The participants also shared their experiences after the workshop. Around 25 people reaped health benefits through this event.
The session ended with a group prayer, ॐ सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः । सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः । सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु । मा-कश्चिद्दुःखभाग्भवेत् । ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥
