SAM remembers Braveheart, marks first anniversary

Availing this major opportunity to generate awareness, SAM team geared up to observe the first anniversary of this mishappening at Dilli Haat, Pitampura, New Delhi on December 16, 2013. It is noteworthy that SAM partnered with 25 schools of Delhi/NCR and around 3000 students became a part of this event. The event received a huge coverage by TV news channels and print media.

Students participated in activities like poster making, slogan writing etc., thereby spreading a message on gender sensitization. Dance performances by students also highlighted the need of the hour to awaken masses whose collective contribution is conducive to a positive transformation in the society.

What could amaze the audience and leave everyone in awe was none other than a striking presentation by SAM’s own dance group Eternal Splendor. Calling forth sentiments of the audience, performance on a song summarizing the dreadful situation faced by a girl left them in tears.

Representative, DJJS, delivered a talk on the intensity of crimes in the city and the need to empower women. Her words were well received and appreciated by the audience.

This collaborative effort earned praise from one and all present at the event. Mrs. Mona, the Principal of Maxfort School, Pitampura, expressed, “SAM is an amazing event that should be conducted in schools. Educational institutions have not been able to do what SAM is doing for the holistic development of school students.”

A public figure Ms. Meenakshi also shared, “I have never seen such a kind of program to sensitize masses. These volunteers are doing a great job and I admire the spirit with which they wish to bring about a transformation in the society.”
