SAM workshops, the youth empowerment initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, collaborated with Raahgiri Foundation, an NGO that advocates for safe, accessible and inclusive public streets. The theme for this collaboration was - “ Roads are beautiful, when they belong to people.”
SAM workshops along with Raahgiri, also collaborated with Delhi Police, Delhi Traffic Police, and G20. The SAM team, under the expert guidance and inspiring leadership of Co-ordinators Sadhvi Dr. Shivani Bharti ji and Sadhvi Ruchi Bharati ji, effectively blended fun and education in creating awareness towards road safety and traffic rules. The event was held at the heart of New Delhi, i.e, the inner circle of Connaught Place.
The key highlights of the event were -
- A powerful flash mob by Eternal Splendour, SAM’s in-house performing arts group. The flash mob showcased an entertaining experience like never before and displayed a power-packed performance while also creating awareness for road safety through their performance.
- A road safety awareness campaign by the volunteers of SAM, where they interacted with the cyclists, pedestrians, Raahgirs and made them understand about the importance of traffic rules and road safety. SAM volunteers made the Audience pledge for road safety and learned about the “Road 2 Youthfulness”.
- A walkathon by the volunteers of SAM to spread awareness for the road safety campaign.
The event was applauded by the officials of Delhi Police and Delhi Traffic Police. The volunteers and performers at SAM were appreciated and given certificates of appreciation for adding value to the campaign.
